Visiting Historic Occoquan with a 1957 Horrockses Style Dress

My kids wanted to attend the biannual Occoquan Arts and Crafts Show, so off we went. The guys were interested in the food and the gals were interested in the arts.

This historic town is located on Occoquan Creek. In that eastern direction it soon empties into the mighty Potomac River.

There is a pedestrian bridge across the creek to this waterfall.

In this direction the creek is smaller, as it comes from the west.

Many of the historic homes are now shops.

My son kindly took photos of the 1957 Horrockses dress I sewed last year. I wrote about a bit of the fashion history of Horrackses dresses, as well as the construction details here.

This is one of my favorite dresses, that I wear quite often in the summer. I sewed another dress with this pattern which I hope to debut soon.
